Due 2nd block: Complete a rough working draft of your essay - include your embedded citations and start a works cited page. See the handout from class Resource: OWL @ Purdue website - for any help you need on citing sources Due Mon: Weekly Paper #2 Read "Whatever happened to 'go out and play'?" from CNN. You do not need to print and annotate the article, but in your response: Explain the article's main point and your opinion on the topic presented. Support your opinion with well developed examples. Weekly Paper (WP) #1: Due Monday 8/24
Summer Reading Book Related Article Response (not the ones you read during the summer, the one that relates to your SR book) Format: 1.5 spacing for body, single spacing for MLA heading (see syllabus), 1" margins, size 12 font Response: In your first paragraph, describe the content and purpose of the article. Explain your opinion on the topic presented. In the second paragraph, connect the article to your summer reading and support your opinion with evidence from your experience, reading or observations.

See the attached document for details on the assignment due at the beginning of the school year. You must have your reading notes, essay response and annotated articles ready to turn in during the first day of class. Annotation for the book is optional. If you have not already done so, please upload your essay to your school google drive account.
