Due 2nd Block (Thurs/Fri)
- Look at the "This I Believe" website and listen to/read one of the posted narratives. Write a short description on the back of your WP#8 of this narrative. Your weekly response is due on Monday, all you need for the 2nd block is the summary of the narrative you read. - Finish your group's presentation. You will present in class during the 2nd block. Due 1st block (Tues/Wed):
Develop a thematic statement for The Crucible - select two supporting quotes and analyze them in the t-chart format. Make sure to include context as well as a minimum of two analysis sentences that explain how this quote supports your stated theme. - Annotation and character charts will be checked - Order your copy of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn now! You will need the book the week starting 11/10. I am using the Penguin edition, which I suggest, however any copy will be fine. Read Act 4 - focus on integrity
WP#6 (Due Mon.) Respond to the article "Ebola Hysteria: An epic, epidemic overreaction" on CNN.com Analyze the arguments/ideas presented by the author and assert your opinion as well. Due 2nd Block (Wed/Thurs)

Choose either one character, a relationship between characters, or a theme to analyze in this week's paper. You can use evidence from Act 1 and/or 2. Finish reading act two and annotate for the motifs of suspicion and accusation. +Review vocab for Friday For those of you taking the PSAT during 2nd period, to make up your in-class work you will need to do two things: 1) Pick a character and do a little character analysis. Make an opinionated statement about the character, find a supporting quote and analyze. 2) Write a theme statement about fear (what is Miller communicating about fear?).
