For each: 5-10 facts [record website where you found the info] + image [printed or drawn] Rough draft of the essay should be finished by Wednesday - be prepared to put finishing touches and do final revisions in class.
Due Wed: Write statement of Golding's message/theme and first body paragraph (focused on how Golding conveys his theme through the use of characters, symbols, plot, etc).
This google drive document is the one I showed in class that outlines parts of the essay for you (you only need to complete the highlighted part of the intro and the first body paragraph - do not write the whole essay!) Create a rough outline of the essay we'll be working on in class next week for Lord of the Flies:
- Write a statement explaining what you believe Golding's message/argument about humanity is - Write a statement explaining whether you agree or disagree with Golding and why 1. How does the novel show Golding's theme? What details will you use to show this? 2. Describe a social experiment that supports your opinion on the theme. 3. Describe a real world example (personal experience, observation, history, current event) that supports your opinion on the theme. |
